arcanaxcii named it bodysnatchers because the blurry leaf at the top of the picture looks like stringy fingers trying to pick him up and steal him away. the blurryness is for the mood. radiohead is inspiring all this.
like i can't even explain it, i just love it
good job ^^
Radiohead is wonderful
As usual, your style of shot is wonderful- stretching upwards, much beyond the point of focus, definitely lends space and a vastness that would otherwise be missing. It's what gave you your title too, so I guess it worked out perfectly all round!
I think my only qualm with this picture is that, as regards colour-scheme, it's a little too dead-pan. I'm not sure if it would have that same tired, sick feeling if it wasn't that way though, so I'm conflicted. I'd prefer slightly more vivid colour, and yet fear it would take away from the mood at the same time. I guess there's just no pleasing me.
Your caption is great too. I think it emphasises stillness and silence in the picture, by drawing attention to "make a sound". Like the way some things ring in your ears like gunshots, when your head is spinning, and your senses are totally alert. It's a quirky little touch that I appreciate, anyway.
Anyway, this is good work. It's missing some small touch of vivaciousness, or energy, which makes me not consider it as highly as some of your other work, but it's going somewhere that I love- it's experimental, and different, and that makes me a little excited. Keep it up, I can't wait to see what's next.
haha and that quote that you said about the stoner made me laugh, cos now that you mention it its exactly how it looks like! sort of goes back to the radiohead theme. i've been listening to them all week and they sort of take you to another world when you hear nothing but them. they are so crazy and they make out of key singing sound great
oh and that "sick feeling" is what i was trying to get from the colours in the photo. sort of goes along with the out of focusness and his expression and pose. i thought using vibrant colours like i usually do wouldn't really suite what i was trying to do with this photo.
well yeah, im just trying to experiment a bit. i really love the results of the photos that day but i didn't think they would be as popular as some of my usual stuff when i uploaded it on deviantart. i still like it though, and radiohead is endless, insane, surreal inspiration. don't know why i haven't listened to them earlier!
