Just srarted serious editing this year. Love Lightroom. Saved a lot of poorly exposed photos (good for amateurs) and when I do nail the shot from the camera, look out! Lightroom can make it look magazine quality! Very few lighting situations Lightroom can't handle, even bad stage-lighting. And if you must shoot in broadbdaylight? You can lighten the darks a skosh and soften the light areas for a little less contrast. CS5...will wait until I get a better grip on the software. Still a bit beyond me.

I love actions. Actions that consist of curves and all. I think actions are the ultimate. lol

For levitations and what not, I use a phone app called Juxtaposer.
For all my other edits I use ipiccy.com / basically like the new picnik.

Sadly I don't know how to use photoshop and or gimp ._.

I have little idea as how to use actions.

I edit with curves, exposure, brightness (and RAW) on Photoshop. I really need to learn a lot because my editing knowledge is almost nothing. :/

frequency separation... then a bit of curve toning.

sometimes a series of techniques, saved as actions.

lightroom, and/or photoshop. depends what i have in mind for an image before hand as to what i actually do to an image tho. ill use anything i think will add to it. whether it be pre adjusted curves etc. or all from scratch.

I edit from scratch every time. No actions or pre-made curves.

wow only one other person has said they edit from scratch! i don't think i'd be able to live without my beloved presets. i do think sometimes they restrict you and you never know what else you can come up with had you not used/own any presets, but at the same time, it's scary to think i wouldn't have a backup plan just in case i didn't like anything else i did with the image!

I will use just about anything I need to create the photo I have in my mind. I use Photoshop (curves, sharpening, actions), Aperture, and sometimes an online photo editor. I'll do as much as I can in camera, but I'm not ashamed to use the tools available to me to express my ideas. :meow:

sounds good! yeah definitely, i'm not ashamed to use those tools too, they're there for a reason so you may as well! i've never used aperture before, is it good?

It is wonderful! It's also free, lol. You should definitely try it out!
A tip for using Aperture: Go to the top bar on your screen. Go to "Images," then "Edit With," and then "Dodge & Burn." There is so much you can do in that mode and it's so much easier than a lot of similar (but more complicated) things in Photoshop. You should go and download it NOW! :la:

Photoshop. Just curves, a bit of contrast and sharpening. Most of the times, I like my photos to look natural, so just minimal editing. Sometimes I use actions if I want my photos to look like a lomograph. I don't use Lightroom or gimp because I don't know how to use it :)

that's just what i used to do as well! i'd just use photoshop to edit all my colours because i didn't know how to use anything else. then one day i just decided that i was going to use lightroom and fell in love with it! :D ooh and did you create your lomo effect actions yourself? i love vintage looking photos!

I'm thinking to shoot in RAW and try to use lightroom. They said it was a lot more easier tool than PS.

Sometimes I create my own effect, but sometimes I just use the actions I've downloaded here in deviantart. Some artist here are pretty cool to share their stuff.

can I add you up? :)

ah cool! i use lightroom to do most of my colour editing, then all i do in photoshop is light retouching! for my fashion stuff anyway. if im creating a full-blown photo manipulation, i'll do colour and editing all in photoshop!

I do NEVER EVER use actions or curves packs.
I edit them on my own, in Gimp.

I prefer to get everything right in camera. Recently I switched from jpeg to raw and editing has to be done. Now I use Lightroom 3.3 and make minor adjustments. Only in some cases I 'heavy edit' a photo.

sounds good :) i do light edits in lightroom for my wedding/client photos, where i just make the photos warmer, add more blacks/contrast and play around with simple and subtle things like that. for my fashion stuff though i like to go a bit heavier on the editing!

nice! i use curves a lot more than i use actions for some reason though. do you feel like it's annoying going through a few of your actions trying to find the right one to go with your photo?

Hm, i just know what could fit to the image and most of the time i edit the actions after using them so that its perfect for that one photo. I actually love curves, lot of my actions contain curves :) And i have some curves already but hm i think they are not the greatest ones. So if you know where i could find really great ones, just tell me :)

First I have to say I really dig your edit style and it's probably way over my head  I like to use actions and textures in PSE. When I'm going for just a straight photo I just use levels and what not in PSE

ahaha aw thank you :) i don't do much though, just lightroom raw presets and then some light retouching! i used to use textures a lot a few years ago but i think i sort of got tired of doing it all the time!
